The Aguilar amPlug 3 Tone Hammer is a super-portable,practice headphone amplifier, designed specifically for bass
players. Simply insert the amPlug directly into your bass guitar’s output jack, plug your headphones into the amPlug and start playing! This model features several recognizable Aguilar sounds and effects, and a rhythm machine for convenient silent practice.
Dual Channels – The amPlug Tone Hammer’s all-analog design features a clean channel for classic Tone Hammer voicing and a second channel with our DRIVE circuit for more saturated, tube-inspired tone.
Custom Tone Control – A simple and intuitive Tilt-EQ adjusts bass and treble simultaneously for a warmer and bass forward tone, an articulate and focused tone or everything in-between.
Compression – Inspired by our TLC Compressor, the amPlug features a clean, musical compression circuit for taming your dynamics
Reverb – A short room style reverb for adding depth and ambience to your practice tone.
Chorus – Fuel your creativity with built-in Chorus inspired by our Chorusaurus pedal for vocal like sounds or rich, swirling textures
Drum Machine – Play along with built-in rhythm patterns with adjustable tap tempo

Switches
- STANDBY/ON/CH button, lamp
- Long-press the button to turn the unit on/off. Press this button to switch between channels.
- FX/RHYTHM lever switch
- Long-press the lever switch to start or stop the rhythm. Press or rotate the lever switch to set the effect and rhythm. This control works differently when the rhythm is stopped and when it is playing.
- TAP button
- This sets the effect and rhythm speed. This control works differently when the rhythm is stopped and when it is playing.
Knobs
- GAIN control
- This adjusts the amp gain.
- TONE control
- Full spectrum tilt EQ, boosting treble while cutting bass and vice versa. Use it to correct the frequency response of your headphones.
- VOLUME control
- This adjusts the overall volume of the amplifier.

You can record the output audio from this unit to a device such as a smartphone or tablet if you use a CTIA-compliant 3.5 mm TRRS cable
