Supro Huntington II Mahogany
Supro Huntington II
Ok, bass aficionados things just got real! We’re dealing with a truly legendary brand here. Supro started way back in the 1920’s and grew up with the vibing Chicago blues scene in the 30’s, which according to history got copied in England in the 60’s by legends such as Jimmy Page and David Bowie, who both funnily enough ended up using Supro gear. Even though Supro is mostly known for their guitars and guitar amps, their mark on the world of bass is undeniable with the ultra-cool Violin, Taurus and Pocket Bass models, which have helped inspire the new Huntington bass line.
The Huntington II from Supro is a 30” short scale bass with an mahogany body and a rosewood fingerboard. This is a super classic combination that just radiates vintage coolness, and with the flatwound that are on the bass you instantly feel the sound of the 60’s and 70’s crawling up through you fingers and into your ears!
The set neck construction is all maple with a smooth satin finish that gives this instrument a very modern feel. This thing just plays like butter!
The Huntington II features two pickups. The 2 gold foil pickups, which are authentic replicas of the original “Clear Tone “pickups found in the legendary Violin, Taurus and Pocket Basses.
Whether you are a rock’n’roll ripper or a 60’s funk gangster on the bass, the magical Huntington II will see you get the job done!
